The Pay Advantage API offers the capability to establish controlled access through specific IP addresses. This feature ensures that only your authorized servers can retrieve API data when initiating login and request operations.
Leaving this setting blank grants unrestricted access to the API from anywhere in the world. Implementing IP restrictions yields a substantial security advantage. Even in cases where your API login credentials are compromised, potential unauthorized users would be unable to access your account via the API since their connection would originate from a distinct IP address.
To enforce IP restrictions on your account, you can register the designated IP addresses for API access within the Pay Advantage portal, accessible under the API Setup options. It's important to configure these IP restrictions separately for both your sandbox/test account and your live account.
